The Resilience Project (TRP)
Term 2 has been a great term with TRP. We have continued to work through activities using our key principles, Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy, GEM + EL. The students have been very involved with the learnings and demonstrating these GEMs out and about the school and taking them home.
Throughout the upcoming school holidays, here is a few ways we can continue to bring Gratitude into our days.
Gratitude
A few quick and simple ways to practise being grateful are:
- Journaling; each night write down 3 things that went well for you that day or purchase a gratitude journal with gratitude prompts.
- Write a gratitude letter to someone special, telling them why you are grateful they are in your life.
- Have a family discussion around the dinner table about the things that went well that day or made you smile.
- A game called Rose, Thorn and Banana. Rose being what our favourite part of our day was, or what went well for us today. Thorn being what did not work well for us today or our least favourite part of the day. Banana being, what was the funniest part of our day.
In the classroom with TRP
Year 11 & 12
Year 11 & 12 practised giving each other compliments and then spent some time writing a letter of gratitude to a family member.

In a different TRP activity we spent our lesson completing mindful colouring as part of a mindfulness activity, such a great way to calm the nervous system and de stress! You could hear a pin drop!
