From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
We were delighted to welcome so many St Anne’s grandparents to the college last Friday for the double celebration of St Anne and St Joachim and Grandparents Day. Thank you to Fr Alex and Louise Gaynor for planning the Mass celebrating our Grandparents and thank you to everyone who contributed or participated. We were blessed with perfect weather for the playground picnics, and it was great to see everyone enjoying each other’s company and the sunshine. We hope Infants and Primary grandparents enjoyed their classroom visits and the wonderful portraits the students created.
Thank you everyone for your terrific support and for making the day so special and memorable!

Year 7 and 8 Snowy Mountains Trip, Infants Excursions to Circus Quirkus, Author Visit
Congratulations to the Year 7 and 8 students for the co-operation, helpfulness and wonderful enthusiasm they showed on the expedition last week. It has been a joy to hear about the adventures the students enjoyed and to hear from the teachers how positive the students were about all the experiences, and how well-behaved they were throughout their time together.
Special thanks to Ms Harper, Mr Kemp, Mr Leary and Mrs Park for making this fabulous experience possible.

The Infants students had an equally awesome experience in Wagga during their excursion last week. Although just a day trip, the excitement equalled that of Yr 7 and 8 and the students also had a fabulous experience.
Thank you to Mrs Coleman and the Infants staff for their enthusiasm in planning exciting trip for the younger members of the school.

K- 7 students enjoyed meeting a published author this week and learnt more about the craft of writing as well as the publishing process. Thank you to Mrs Nina Gaynor for inviting Georgina Donaghey to St Anne’s and for making all the arrangements for the presentations.
Each of these experiences as the students move through the school helps them to gain confidence, independence and enriches the school experience. We are grateful to the staff for recognising the great value of giving the students these opportunities and going the ‘extra mile’ to make the trips, retreats, expeditions etc possible.
National Tree Planting Day
Thank you to the Temora Shire Council for inviting St Anne’s to participate in National Tree Planting Day. It was great to welcome Cr Ken Smith and Communications Officer Lauren Carr to St Anne’s. The Primary and Secondary SRCs enjoyed hearing about the history of Fr Hannan field and how in fact Cr Smith has cleared the field of trees many decades ago. He has now completed the full circle by helping the students to plant a tree kindly donated by the Council. We look forward to watching the tree thrive and to enjoying its shade in the future.

In conclusion…
Mr Inch has been busy creating a space for the Young Engineers Club. Students from Yrs 5 & up are invited to visit Young Engineers Club on Fridays at lunchtime and have a tinker with the new equipment. We would like to thank the Community Council for funding the renovation of this space and for purchasing the equipment for the students to develop their talents and curiosity.
Following the Infants playground games developed by Student Wellbeing Officer, Lisa Morton, this term, we plan to provide the Primary students with more playground options by way of equipment, competitions and clubs. We look forward to reporting on developments.
With best wishes,

Prayer for Grandparent’s
Lord Jesus,
you were born of the Virgin Mary, the daughter of Saints Joachim and Anne. Look with love on grandparents the world over. Protect them! They are a source of enrichment for families, for the Church and for all of society. Support them! As they grow older, may they continue to be for their families strong pillars of Gospel faith, guardians of noble domestic ideals, living treasuries of sound religious traditions. Make them teachers of wisdom and courage, that they may pass on to future generations the fruits of their mature human and spiritual experience.
Lord Jesus,
help families and society to value the presence and role of grandparents. May they never be ignored or excluded, but always encounter respect and love. Help them to live serenely and to feel welcomed in all the years of life which you give them. Mary, Mother of all the living, keep grandparents constantly in your care, accompany them on their earthly pilgrimage, and by your prayers, grant that all families may one day be reunited in our heavenly homeland, where you await all humanity for the great embrace of life without end. Amen!
