What a whirlwind term Term 1 was. It came and went so quickly, but we did heaps!! In Art we focused on creating portraits; self-portraits, "Picasso styled" self-portraits and portraits of Mary MacKillop - it proved, the more you practise the better you get!!

This term in Creative Arts we are focusing on pitch in music, using every parent's favorite musical instrument, the recorder! Be sure to ask for your child's rendition of "Mary Had a Little Lamb", very soothing!

We did preparation for NAPLAN last term and will continue to do so over the next few weeks, focusing on various text types in Literacy, Spelling and Numeracy. In Religion we studied the history of the Catholic Church in Australia and our parish and this term we are preparing for our Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Thankfully sport has returned and after a term of swimming we are now preparing for Mortimer Shield, NSW Cup Netball and our annual Athletics Carnival this term.

In HSIE we have been learning about Aboriginal life before the arrival of the First Fleet and this term we will focus on early colonial life in NSW. Last term in Science we learnt about packaging and the materials used to pack items safely and efficiently. 

Looking forward to a quieter Term 2!!! Yeah right!!!
