In English for their orientation lesson the students tried their hand at black out poetry! The idea behind this is that you start with an excerpt of a book and choose words or phrases that jump out at you. Then see if you can make these form a cohesive idea. It does not have to be grammatically correct - that is the power of poetry - but it is amazing to see what ideas come through. The Year 6s did a tremendous job!
