From the Principal

Dear St Anne's Community,

I hope that you are all well.

Uniform

Last week, I spoke with Anita, the regional uniform manager from Lowes. Anita gave me an update on some of our uniform items.

  • If you are ordering online and the website tells you the item is out of stock, please call the Wagga store and it will be posted to you regardless. The website is being corrected to allow us to order what is instore, online.
  • The sports polo and long sleeve senior white shirt stock should be in the store in the next 2 weeks.
  • As always, if there are any concerns please make contact with me.

Storage- shipping containers

We are experiencing some storage constraints as we grow in student population. Therefore, we have two new shipping containers on the way. One will be housed on the boundary with Temora Public School and be used as storage for the TAS department. The other will go to Fr Hannan Oval and be used as storage for the high jump mats that we acquired from St Francis at Leeton.

Do it for Dolly

Thank you to the Student Well Being team led by Mrs Wallace for their efforts in organising the Pyjama day dress up. The key message "whether your in your pyjamas at home or uniform at school, there's no place for bullying!" is so important. Students participated in various activities in class and at assembly and the gold coin donation will go to the Do it for Dolly organisation.

Athletics Carnival

Last week, we had our annual athletics carnival at Nixon Park. Thank you to Mr Tait, Mr Hughes and Miss Ryan for their parts in organising the day. Thank you to our parent helpers, without you it is so difficult to run these sort of days. Our students were very well behaved throughout the day and their participation levels were impressive.

Community Council meeting

The school community council met this week. The council meet twice a term, Week 3 and Week 7. Later in the year, we will provide you with an open forum meeting where you are welcome to attend.

Information nights

Thank you to our Staff for their work in presenting the information nights. They have been well received by the community. This week, Miss Jamieson and I travelled out to West Wyalong and presented to a number of potential parents of Year 7, 2024 students.

Kindergarten Teacher 2024

I am pleased to announce that Miss Bridgitt Ryan will be our Kindergarten teacher in 2024. Next year will be Miss Ryan's third year on Kindergarten here at St Anne's.

Grant Success!

Last term, I applied for a $25,000 grant to source classroom air purifiers and play equipment. We were told this term that we were successful in this application. We are now sourcing the items and we will keep you updated.

Take care,

Grant Haigh
