Thank you for your support with the COVID restrictions, we appreciate it. It has been a nice couple of weeks conducting enrolment interviews and showing new families around the school. Our enrolment numbers for 2021 are looking great across the school, with lots of positive feedback about St Anne's. We were very excited to be able to move Years 4-6 into their new classrooms on Tuesday of this week. Year 3 have moved into the Library classroom so that they are closer to the rest of the Primary students and not isolated in the back of the hall. Please see photos later in this newsletter and the building works section. The other great part of the classes moving is that we have reclaimed a number of teaching spaces around the school and the use of the hall.
We are still searching for a Wood/Metal teacher in Secondary. Until we find a suitable candidate, I will continue to take 9/10 Wood/Metal and Mr Tait will teach Mandatory Tech. If you are aware of a qualified builder or qualified teacher who is looking for work, please let them know of our vacant position.
Thank you for your participation in the Parent/Teacher interviews last week. Although it was a unique situation with it being over the phone, we hope that you were still able to gain some productive feedback on the progress of your child/ren. We believe that it takes a community to raise a child, so we are always grateful for the partnership that we form with parents.
I was involved in a meeting today with Fr Sijo, Jacqueline Collins and Catholic Education Office staff around the running of our parish sacramental program. We will communicate more information with you within the next week, about the possibility of Reconciliation going ahead this term.
When we chose our scripture theme (below) at the beginning of the year, we could not have predicted what lay ahead with the COVID situation and it is very fitting for what the country is experiencing.

SACRAMENTAL PROGRAM UPDATE FOR 2020
We are extremely excited that there is a very strong possibility that the Sacrament of Reconciliation will go ahead for 2020. We have been in touch with CE and other schools within the Diocese, being guided by their creative suggestions. We are hoping that they will help us to move ahead in Temora with preparations for this term. We have just a few final things to confirm, so please keep an eye out for further information in the coming days. Feast of Mary Of the Cross MacKillop August 8th
This weekend the Catholic Church celebrates a very special Feast day for our community, remembering and appreciating the life of this extraordinary woman, with whom the Sisters of St Joseph who are a significant part of our parish, draw strength. What a perfect patron to help our world at this time of suffering and call on for the gift of strength at this time.
You sent your Son, Jesus, into the world to bring good news to the poor, happiness to those who are sad and suffering, and hope to those who struggle. Through the example of Jesus, your Son, and the life of Mary MacKillop, may we come to know and love you as you did and show our care for the poor and needy in our world. We make our prayers through Christ our Lord.

In the aftermath of the devastating explosions that occurred in Beirut yesterday, we unite in solidarity, support, and kinship, we pause and offer our prayers for all those who are suffering.
God of love, whose compassion never fails;
Gather our hearts, minds, and voices as one as
we bring before you the griefs and perils of the people of Beirut, Lebanon
in the aftermath of yesterday’s catastrophic explosions.
United in solidarity with those who are suffering, we pray:
May the beauty of the gardens of Lebanon be restored.
May the peace shattered in Beirut be renewed.
May your children taken from this world by the blasts in Beirut,
be welcomed mercifully into your embrace.
And, may their loved ones who remain be comforted by all the world’s peoples.

Caring for all who are suffering due to the COVID-19 Pandemic
We continue to pray for the people all around the world who are affected in some way either directly or indirectly by the COVID-19 Pandemic. We keep all in our prayers, and encourage our community to stay safe and well. We are all encouraged to reach out to others who need our support, through our efforts to communicate with them, our friendship, prayers and solidarity. May God continue to keep us all safely in the palm of his hands and may we stop and recognise the ways in which we are called to help and respond to the needs of others.

Yr 2 - Kayde Brace for his effort and focus during the Literacy block. Paige Reardon for her effort and improvement in reading. Isaac Cronk for playing well with friends and making good decisions both inside and outside the classroom.
Yr 3 - Livvy Blackwell for wonderful results in Maths. Matthias Lancaster for clever use of alliteration in his poems. Ava Derrick for fantastic manners and attitude in class.
Yr 4 - Jacob Bett for applying himself during writing this week. William Maxwell for excellent poetry writing. Max Drenovski for being a great friend.
Yr 5 - Carus Gray for participation during Music lessons. Lenny Lancaster for great participation in Science. Layla Paki for being sensible and mature.
Yr 6 - Jaidyn Baldock - for amazing Maths results. Milly Kelly for a wonderful effort during Maths lessons. Lilli Block for showing concern for others.
Secondary Feed Mi is on again this term and will happen on Tuesday of Week 9. All orders must be in by the end of Week 6 for ordering reasons. Meal ordering and payment must be made via QKR.
We have had some hurdles to overcome with the renovations, but we can say that we are very pleased to have partial occupancy of the new classrooms. Years 4,5 and 6 moved into their new classrooms on Tuesday of this week. They were very excited to be finally in them. The rooms look amazing and the students have settled into their new learning spaces well. We are still waiting to hear about our power upgrade, as that will impact the occupancy of the rest of the classrooms. In the meantime, Year 3 have moved into the Library classroom so that they are not isolated in the back of the hall. The Kinder classroom is approx. 4 weeks off completion.
If you would like to visit the new classrooms, you are more than welcome to attend the school, but you will need to book a time with the office. We would love to show you around!
Last week, Mr Haigh and Mrs Barrett conducted a detailed inspection of the school buildings and grounds. The purpose of this was to create a list of maintenance issues that require attention. This list will be sorted into a 5 year maintenance program aligned with the budget. Areas identified (but not limited to) were; painting of classrooms, installation of acoustic panelling on classroom walls, painting of hand rails, extra cleaning, installation of air conditioning in office space, playground drainage, playground equipment and playground re-surfacing. We will keep you updated as the plan evolves.
