Dear St Anne's Community,
I hope that you are all well.
Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming Mrs Louise Grant to St Anne's. As you know, Louise will be my replacement from 2025 onwards. Staff had the opportunity to meet with Louise in the staffroom for an informal lunch, before Louise and I went for a walk around the school. Louise was very impressed with the school and the students. There will be other opportunities over the next term and a half for students to be formally introduced to Louise. Louise is very excited about starting at St Anne's next year.
School Supervision
We kindly ask that students do not enter school grounds before 8:30am of a morning. The one exception to this is the early bus. Playground supervision does not start until 8:30am.
Father's Day BBQ & Touch Game
Thank you to all the dads, granddads and friends who joined us for our annual Father's Day BBQ and touch football game. It was impressive to see that the dads still have the agility, speed, and skill to beat the Year 10 students.
Showcase
Thank you for your ongoing support with finding bits of costume or props for the upcoming showcase, it is appreciated.
SCC Meeting
This week, the School Community Council (SCC) met for its Week 7 meeting. We spoke about the Canapes in the Canola event and Garden Viewing. Tickets are still on sale for the Canapes event, and we encourage you to attend this event if you can.
School Prayer and School Song
At this week's staff meeting, our staff worked in two different groups. Our Religious Education teachers worked with Mrs Collins on curriculum items and the Non-RE teachers worked with me on different ideas for a school song and prayer. Hopefully, we have a prayer and song in place before our presentation events next term.
Staffing
I currently have a PDHPE/Maths teacher position advertised for secondary.
Take care,
Grant Haigh

St Anne's students had a wonderful day at the recent Diocesan Athletics Carnival. There was a lot of sucess on the track with quite a few of the students making it to the next level of Mackillop and CCC events in Sydney later this year. As a collective, St Anne's also came second in the Champion School Handicap, a great effort by all our students.
There were 20 individual students walking away with at least 1 ribbon and more who achieved personal bests on the day.
A special mention must to to students who broke records on the day:
Zephanie Lancaster: 11 year girls 200m & 800m
Grace McCrone: 12-13 year girls (Primary) High Jump
Joey Cotton: 12 year boys (Secondary) Javelin

Zephanie Lancaster - 11 years girls Age Champion

Phase 2 Primary Netball NSW Schools Cup
NSW Cup Netball Phase 2 Finals
St Anne’s had two teams qualify for the phase 2 finals in Wagga last Monday 26th August. Both teams recorded one win and four losses each in their respective pools. They then played each other for minor places overall with St Anne’s Black defeating St Anne’s Yellow 8-6. The two senior St Anne’s umpires, Amber Haigh and Ava Derrick had the pleasure of umpiring this game. Thanks to these two umpires who did a fantastic job all day. Thanks also to Kath Derrick for driving the bus and coaching the black team and Rachael Gray for coaching the Pink team.
Phase 2 Secondary Boys Netball NSW Schools Cup
Our Secondary boys had a great day out at the Netball NSW Schools Cup Riverina finals.
The 9/10 boys played well all day (with no subs) and never stopped trying.
The 7/8 boys made it all the way to the grand final but were beaten by a strong Xavier side.
A big thank you to Ahlia and Adelaide for umpiring.
